Paulette Sigler, the founder and conductor of the Cantare Youth Choir, has been teaching and conducting for over twenty-five years throughout the Southeast. Mrs. Sigler received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Georgia State University. Mrs. Sigler has completed extensive graduate work in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and is currently pursuing Master of Music Education at Georgia State University.

Over the years, Mrs. Sigler has trained choirs in a variety of settings, including church music where she toured with choirs in the Bahamas and Canada, and in public and private schools at all levels from youth to adult.

Between 1998-2005, Mrs. Sigler developed award winning choruses at Hightower Trail Middle School. These choruses were recognized at the state level in 2004 (Treble) and 2005 (Mixed) with appearances at the Georgia Music Educator's Association Conferences in Savannah, GA.

As a singer she has performed with Opera Carolina, and as a soloist with the Charlotte Choral Society and the Raleigh Symphony, as well as, music theater performances. Mrs. Sigler is the Upper School Choral Director at Whitefield Academy, a member of the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Chancel Choir and a former member of The Michael O'Neal Singers.

Mrs. Sigler’s future engagements include a presentation in November of 2009 for the Iowa Music Educators Association and as conductor for the 2010Alabama ACDA Junior High Girls Choir.

In addition to her responsibilities as the Artistic Director of the Cantare Youth Choirs, Mrs. Sigler is an adjudicator for the Georgia Music Educator's Association, guest clinician, and honor chorus conductor. She served as District 12 Choral Chair for three years. Her professional affiliations include Georgia Music Educator's Association, Music Educator's National Conference, and the American Choral Director's Association.
